10/10 exactly what I was was looking for
I’m a pharmacist for a local grocery chain and while most of the national retail pharmacies have switched over to the easier to open push tab vials, my store still uses the push & twist vials. I’ve been practicing for only two years and have already been told that I will eventually need surgery on my wrist if I keep aggravating it with the repetitive motion of opening/closing vials. I was skeptical if this item would fit the lids that we use, but it works like a charm for 13 dram/16 dram vials. I haven’t tried it on anything bigger, but I highly doubt it would fit based on the circumference of the opener. Regardless, 13/16s are the most common vials we use, so this thing will be perfect for my needs. If you regularly get vials that are on the larger side then I recommend you talk to your pharmacy and request easy-open caps; all of your prescriptions going forward will have lids you can just pop off with your thumb. Expensive but performance justifies the cost.
Either medicine bottles are getting tighter or I’ve lost a lot of strength in my hands. Not only am I having difficulty opening child-proof bottles, even regular over-the-counter medications. I did an extensive Amazon search for some sort of device to help and this one seemed to be the most promising. I ordered one, received it, tried it, used it for a couple of weeks–and it was able to make opening bottles very much easier. It also has a built in 4X magnifying glass which forms the top of the device. The interior is a grippy rubbery surface that has various stops that, I imagine, mark conventional sizes of medication bottle tops. It has certainly been my experience that whichever top I was trying to open has a stop in place.Because it is sort of expensive–let’s face it, it’s relatively simple, small, has no moving parts, is made of plastic and rubber–so I only ordered one and, even so I gave it some thought. But, since I have medicines in both sides of the house, the device always was in the opposite side of where I needed. So I had to bite the bullet and, today, I received the second one. Now, I have one in the bathroom and another in the kitchen and I’m able to easily open my medications wherever I am.

Works as described
It works as described. I was able to open a larger-than-average child safety cap off my medications. I still had to push down a bit, but it was easier than it was before without this item. It gives a better grip on the lid as well.

This Item is a Joke!
I don’t know what this rubber item does, but what I’m sure it doesn’t do is open prescription bottles. It doesn’t even come close to achieving that; however, did you know that you can order your prescriptions without the difficult-to-open safety caps? They just give you your prescriptions with a simple white flip-off cap. All you have to do is request it. I’m sure there must be something out there that helps open the safety caps, but this isn’t it.

Should have bought this ages ago!
Bought this for my elderly dad who takes 12 medications daily. At 91, his arthritis made it difficult to be independently opening his meds. He hated asking for help! This works on 10 of the 11 bottles, that last one is too large for the opener.

I have arthritis so have great difficulty opening childproof caps off medicine bottles. This device will open larger childproof caps but not the narrower ones. Can the manufacturer make one for narrow tops please?
