This is a fine can opener that works perfectly well. As a functional item I don’t have any complaints. Though I can’t speak yet for its longevity/durability, the quality of the materials are such that I could see it going either way in terms of proving durable or failing prematurely.The quality of the materials and appearance of the can opener are really all that causes me dissatisfaction. If the price were a little lower I wouldn’t make an issue of it, but it seems like other can openers from high quality brands like OXO or kitchen-aid can be purchased for around the same price. Those are both brands that I frequently buy, and I’ve found the quality of materials and design, especially with OXO, to be very consistent, as well as often featuring generous guarantees should a tool prematurely fail.If Divide Star offers any kind of guarantee or warranty I’m not aware of it, and with a brand that hasn’t been around a long time even lifetime guarantees mean little. A guarantee is only as good as the company behind it.As far as the particularities, I’m not a huge fan of the feel of the handle while I’m gripping it. Again, it’s not bad, just not good or great either. And more so the quality of the materials don’t instill me with a great sense of confidence, much less pleasure, when using the tool.My existing can opener was cheap (probably dollar store), and partially malfunctioning (had to go around a can top multiple times to finish the job), so this is a big step up in terms of being new and working. But I’ll still have my eyes out for a can opener that I’ll like more, and which I’ll have more confidence in. I like to buy once and cry once. I hate replacing tools.

It opens cans!
Wow, just wow. It opens cans! I’m not really sure what else to say about a can opener to be very honest. I ordered this because my wife couldn’t find the can opener. Which seems to be a common issue. In the past 3 years, I’ve purchased 4 different can openers. The difference with this one though?! Its blue! I’m hoping it will stand out against the other black-handled utensils in the drawer so that my wife can see it more clearly and I won’t have to buy a new one again.Yes, it opens cans. It doesn’t seem to slip on the lip (yet?) and its as comfortable as one would expect. Is it better than the one I bought for 2 dollars? Yes. Is it amazing? Well, no – its just a can opener. But it does in fact open cans, and that makes me happy.

The Divide Star Can Opener is a great little tool to have in your kitchen.We don’t use the can opener that often in our house and we had kept the one we had for years and it was getting hard to use. The Divide Star is a game-changer. So much smoother to use. You can really tell the difference.It is pretty large, so it’s easy to hold in your hand. It feels well-made, not like a cheap version from the Dollar Store.It also has a bottle opener so you can make room and only need one item instead of two in your kitchen.It creates a smooth edge, so you don’t have to worry about cutting yourself with sharp edges.It has a magnet on the side. I’m not too sure what this is for and the description doesn’t really explain. I tried to use it to hang the can opener on the fridge but it’s not strong enough for that purpose. I’m guessing this is to hold the can and avoid the said can from shifting when using the can opener.
