    Great glove!
If you’re a dad looking for a reliable and comfortable glove to enjoy some quality catch time with your son, a Rawlings baseball glove is a solid option.

Great Glove but Long Break-in Period
I bought this glove to be a bucket grandpa and help my grandsons practice baseball, one of them pitches in 10U. The bold colors are what grabbed my attention first and with Rawlings having such a long history with sports I felt like it would be a great choice. I wanted a leather glove without spending $300 for a Heart of the Hide model and this one fit the price point perfectly. After I received it the quality of the leather is remarkable for this price range. The palm has the leather reinforced palm pad so it took some time and effort to get it broken in. In my opinion it took way too long when it was supposed to be 80% factory, 20% player. I’d reverse those numbers to 20% factory and 80% player because my grandson couldn’t even close the glove when I first got it.With some mallet work, some glove oil from Rawlings and a lot of baseballs caught, it is finally broken in. The one thing I noticed as soon as I put some glove in and massaged the leather, the red and navy colors bleed really easily, even with just a moist rag they will bleed. Normally I wouldn’t care but the laces and binding are white so color bleeding is highly undesirable. I included a couple of pics that show the bleeding.Catching with this glove is great, the leather reinforced palm really makes a difference and protects from the sting but it’s still sensitive enough that you know the millisecond it hits the glove. I was very impressed with function once broken in. The lacing on the web is holding up very well, there’s no visible signs of tearing after several hundred catches. Definitely A+ Quality. The glove is on the smaller side at 32.5”. I had to replace the wrist so it didn’t put so much pressure on my hand when closing the glove and once I did that, it fit very well. I am a traditional with index finger out and the padding for your finger is spot on if that is how you wear your glove as well.Overall I am not at all disappointed with the purchase and I’d buy another one if I need it. I would recommend this glove to anyone that needs a high quality leather glove. If there’s one thing I could warn you about it’s the color bleeding. I’m going to relace now that it’s broken in because I’d like to have the laces white again in the palm, on the heel, and around the web.I hope this review was helpful and makes choosing a glove a little easier.

    Love it !
I’m 20 years old 6’0 and I like to think I have average sized hands. Was looking to burn some Amazon points so I decided to replace my old mitt. I don’t usually play first base but I like the way the mitts feel anyways, and the size they have. Ordering a mitt online is always sketch but this mitt was definitely one of the best I’ve had so far.You can tell it’s great quality, the leather feels really nice and it’s working great with my glove oil to break it in. It says it comes 80% broken in which isn’t true, it’s more like 20%. However i think it’s better that way, it’s broken in enough to where you can play catch with it right away, but also not enough so that it will shape itself to your hand the more you use it.I’ve been issuing it now for a few days, not long but I’ve been really putting it to work and love it so far. Might even buy another one to replace my catchers mitt depending on how it holds up.

A Solid Choice for the Utility First Baseman that Doesn’t Break the Bank
Let’s talk about the Rawlings Breakout First Base Glove. It’s a pretty neat pick, especially if you’re playing first base and don’t want to spend a fortune. This glove sits in that sweet spot – not too cheap, not too pricey. It positions itself comfortably above beginner gloves like the Renegade or Player Preferred, yet remains more accessible than higher-end models like the Heart of the Hide series or the Pro Preferred.First things first, this glove looks sharp with its red, navy, and white colors. It’s got a decent leather feel, though it’s a bit stiff at the start. But hey, I guess that’s on purpose. Rawlings wants you to break it in and make it your own. I haven’t gotten it fully game-ready yet, but it seems like it’ll shape up nicely with some good old catch and play. The fit’s a bit different from what I’m used to, but it does the job. It’s snug and comfortable, though it’s no match for those high-end gloves I use for infield and outfield. But then again, we’re talking first base here, so it’s a whole different ball game.Durability-wise, it feels solid. The laces look tight, and the leather seems like it’ll last through a few seasons of play. If you’re a first baseman looking for a reliable glove without spending a ton, this one’s a solid choice. Sure, you could go for something fancier like the Heart of the Hide series, but if you’re watching your wallet, the Rawlings Breakout won’t let you down. It’s a practical, good-looking glove that gets the job done.
