Great bow at a great price!!!
This bow is excellent! I had a Martin Jaguar Takedown that wasn’t too bad, but it didn’t feel 100 percent like a traditional recurve to me because it still required an arrow rest to shoot it, and it had a metal riser instead of a wooden one. All of that is not a problem with this bow. With the Sage the shelf is just like that of a traditional recurve so you can shoot it straight off the shelf, and it’s more or less all wood except for the parts that use screws to hold the limbs onto the riser. This is probably the closest you’ll find to a traditional recurve for a great price! With this bow it is much easier to become accurate at traditional archery because all you have to do is focus on your form if you are shooting from the shelf. You don’t have to compensate for adjusting any arrow rests or anything that could potentially be throwing you off as well as your form. That’s one of the main reasons why I got rid of my Martin Jaguar because it has a shelf like that of a compound bow, which requires an arrow rest to shoot off of. By shooting from just the shelf of the bow, you’ll know that it is just your form that is throwing off your accuracy. Also your fletchings should be feathers and not vanes, so they don’t hit the riser and throw your arrow off.

Great bow. Definitely recommend.
As a beginner in archery, I found this bow very easy to handle and with a little help from YouTube, easy to use as well. The only modification that I made is that I took my bow to a professional archery dealer and had a new bow string put on. I put approximately 120 arrows through this bow every time I go out to the archery range. This bow seems to hold up very well. I definitely recommend.

Samick Sage-solid take down bow that performs
The Sage is a classic “first bow” for many wanting a 3-piece take down traditional bow. It came with good packaging and protection, was easy to set up, and the thumb screw style limb bolts trade off visual appeal and smooth lines for very simple set up and take down with no tools. I did upgrade my continuous loop string with a flemish twist style (both work fine – it comes down to personal choice) – but if you want a bow to take down for transport and easier storage, or the option to quickly swap draw weights in a single riser, the Samick Sage is a perfect option for those shopping the “black hunter” style of bows. With the price to performance ratio being so good, you can afford to introduce others in the family to the sport as well. I ended up with a couple of them as shown.

Wow! Difficult to string but beautifully crafted!!!
I initially gave this a 1 star review due to the fact that it seemed as though the string or the wings were not the correct length. I requested a replacent and it arrived very quickly. It also had the same issue…or so I thought.I kept looking for a way to contact the seller but could not find one which was frustrating. I kept looking at the information provided on the bow in Amazon and could not find anything – directions to string the bow, a way to contact,, etc.Eventually, I tried to go on their website and found a link to a video of how to string the bow. So I watched it and tried to follow the directions, but I packed the strength to do the last bit where you force the bow to bend to get the string to slide into place. My son tried and struggled as well. Eventually, with both of us trying to bend it, we managed to get it.That being said, the bow itself is beautifully crafted and my son loves it! I changed the 1 star to 4 stars due to this, as the bow came without instructions, a link to the video, or any kind of note staying he should get a stringer – which would haveade the stringing of the bow much, much easier. If these things were included, it would deserve 5 stars.

Great bow, poor string – easily remedied
Love this bow. Very accurate and smooth. Can’t imagine a better takedown recurve at this price. I highly recommend it. The only complaint is the string was pretty noisy no matter how I tried to tune it AND started coming apart at the top loop after only 2 months or so. Granted that I was shooting it fairly often, but it still shouldn’t come apart that quickly. I know they are probably trying to keep costs under control, but it just seems a shame for such a quality bow at that price to have a cheap string. I’d rather pay a few dollars more and get a better string with the bow. My advice: buy a Flemish Fast Flight Plus with the bow and use that as your main string (don’t forget the bowstring wax too). Keep the string that comes with the bow as a spare.

I love the bow
I threw on a fast flight string from 3 rivers archery after sending about 200 arrows down the range. The string’s serving begins to wear a little quickly in my opinion. So although I didn’t care for the string, I love the bow. It has a huge sight window, and the inserts for a stabilizer or fishing reel as well as a sight or a quiver. So right there you have a lot of versatility when you combine the fact that you can also swap out the limbs. Although this is not an iconic feature of the sage, it is an appreciated feature for me. I personally have a 4″ stabilizer and mountain man beaver balls for string silencers. shooting at 50 pounds with a 7 7/8″ brace height. I just have to say that it shoots REALLY smoothly now. Really impressive for a takedown bow. It’d be good for a recurve but it is downright impressive how smooth this takedown recurve is. It’s a little heavy but for 140 bucks…. this is the one I’d go with 100 times over.

Well built but not 50 lbs as advertised
I like the bow. It’s well built and accurate. Big issue I do have with it is the limbs are supposed to be 50 lbs at 28” draw but the one I received is only 39 lbs at 28”.Edited to add: the seller contacted me and I sent pics but they said they could not resolve the issue. Reducing to a one star due to the seller not standing behind their product. It isn’t a bad bow but probably better off with a Black Hunter.

great bow!
one of the limbs on the bow was slightly offset so one of the screws was tough to get in. It took me a while to figure out what was going on with it, but once I did…….this thing is awesome! fantastic bow not only for the price, but just a great bow!

This is fun!!! I am in Canada and had to pay duties, if I could remember 30ish dollars? But it’s sooo fun! And if the world goes to hell I’ll have a bow to kill zombies or hunt. Really though, I don’t want to hunt as I’m a vegetarian and just like to shoot things, junk like plywood and not trees because I like trees. The first time I shot it at my neighbours wood fence it split it and it was hard to take the arrow out. Mom was so mad. Too bad bros, build a new fence if you like. I got the 50lb bow. Man, before guns this was this thing for thousands of years and I think training in bow and arrow should be mandatory in school. I’m so stoked bro. If only I had adequate space to practice during this covid-19 bs. I am so happy with my bow, srs. This is not an amazon bs review, you can tell by my writing style. If you are serious about this stuff then buy it now, I recommend the 50lbs but I lift. My bow had no scratches as other reviews stated, and to be honest I wouldn’t care if it did. Really, scratches T_T ? I just want to go to a range and work on my aim. I recommend the standard 12 arrows best seller on amazon that I purchased. I also recommend the bow stringer that’s the best seller, just because it’s what I got and works. This is the most happy I have been in a while, as it got me off pvp games and got me breathing fresh air and shooting shiz in my backyard. Bros, if you are on the fence, get a weaker bow than 50lbs and have fun, srs. Too many guys I know are depressed and play video game 24/7. Build on a skill and lvl yourself irl.. Sorry if I seem dumb but I just tried this and this has been the happiest I have been in a long time. Hope you dudes on the fence make the same decision. Good luck and watch youtube how-to’s before you try. Practice and get good bro’s!

Well…. For $200 I wasn’t expecting much. I bought the 50 lb. Man does this thing have a wallop when it hits. It seems sturdy and does exactly what it’s supposed to do while looking pretty good. The only thing I don’t like is the plastic bushing on the limb connectors but we’ll see how it holds up. For now I would say great for the money### EDIT. a few weeks into use and the crappy little plastic arrow rest broke. i suggest upgrading to a better arrow rest or put some fur on the shelf. thats what im gonna do
