No sharp edges, perfect for my left handed niece.
I got this for my 8 year old niece, who is left handed. She should be able to help in the kitchen if she wants when she visits, and not learn something upside down or backwards, plus, these don’t leave a sharp edge, so no hospital visits I have to explain to my sister.

    Lefty approved!
It’s hard to find decent tools for left handed people. It’s also cumbersome to have 2 of everything in my kitchen drawers. This can opener is perfect because it works well and works for both lefties and righties.

    Feels cheap but works.
It works well but feels like it is going to break. I am right handed and my daughter is left handed. We are able to use this with little effort.

    I only used it lefthanded.
Yes, it is ambidextrous, well I think it is. I only used it lefthanded. I really like that it cuts the whole top off. One time around and the top lifted right off. No skipping and tiring to go back and forth to try and cut through places where it just dented the top and didn’t cut through. I’m asking my wife to purchase more can goods.

    cheap, breaks quickly
The lever arm to open and close it became stiff and nearly unusable within a few weeks

  6. Skyy

xmas gift for my left handed girlfriend
haven’t used it yet, but love the idea of having a can opener that me and my partner can both use!!

  7. GB630726

    Impossible can opener.
When I first saw this I expected it would be a great can opener.Unfortunately after repeated tries I find it won’t latch onto a can and the cutting wheel won’t penetrate the metal lid of a can. It just pops off the can as you try to close the locking lever. Will return when UPS Store opens Monday.

Not a safety cutter–plenty of sharp edge
I thought this can opener would be one of those safety cutters that cuts the seam of the can and leaves no sharp edges–because it says there are no sharp edges. This isn’t the case. This cutter cuts below the seam. There are still sharp edges, they are just on the can instead of the lid. I actually think this is less safe than a traditional can opener. With a traditional opener I can throw the sharp lid into the can and bend the can. In this way I can protect anyone who is handling my recycling from getting cut. I’m not sure how to do this with this can opener. That being said it does easily open cans and it works for a lefty as well.
